Before and after… Numbers I have been meeting every day on my usual route and then one day they look so completely different. What before was colorful and happy now looks empty, sad. What was green and warm now is gray, empty and yes covered in snow. Numbers are diverse, change with the season, with our mood, our decisions. The first photo is from a store that used to be in Leidsestraat here in Amsterdam. Last time I walked by the store was empty and the number on the window looked so different, so lonely. It only made me think that I never visited this store and I always thought: tomorrow now it is busy. Later I don’t have time. Another day, I have time enough. Sometimes things change from one moment to the other. Don’t wait until later to take a moment and notice, enjoy, feel. The numbers help me remember this. To slow down and be there, at the moment.
